Overview

With 200km length of the coastline, Phu Yen features exceptional nature of many untouched gulfs, beaches, bays, and lagoons. In Phu Yen, it’s easy to harmonize into the wild where the beauty hides here and there, pure and delicate.

Phu Yen is the location where the famous movie “I see yellow flowers on the green grass” of Director Victor Vu was shot. The beauty of Phu Yen is a blend of Cu Mong and Ca mountain passes embracing the line of the deep blue sea. The hearts of tourists when coming here is the image of straight rice paddies, the smooth blue beach, the freshwater swamps and the undulating whirlpool.

It was King Le Thanh Tong who conquered and joined Phu Yen into the Dai Viet Kingdom in 1471. However, it was a conflictual territory between Viet and Cham. Phu Yen was named in 1611 by Lord Nguyen Hoang with a wish for this land to be prosperous and peaceful in the time to come.

During the Tay Son period, Phu Yen was a strategical region where Nguyen Hue defeated 20k of troops of Tong Phuoc Hiep. After the north the south reunited in 1976, Phu Yen was as it is today.

Geography

Phu Yen is a province in the mid of Vietnam. The capital city is Tuy Hoa accessible via the National Highway No. 1A. Phu Yen has three sides face mountains. In the north is Cu Mong mountain pass, in the south is Ca Mountain pass, and in the west is east of Truong Son.

Climate

In Phu Yen, it’s hot from January to August and rainy from September to December. The weather is hot and humid, which is influenced by the ocean climate.

Tourism

There is no shortage of landscapes in Phu Yen. Bai Xep is a notable destination with the most beautiful and romantic sunset. Sleeping buses take around 11 hours, and the train takes about the same time. The road to Phu Yen is magnificent with curves and paths embrace the coastline.
