Why the name Mekong Eyes? - One of the traditional ceremonies performed on a newly constructed Mekong boat is the "eye opening". The eyes are painted on the bow for good luck, a wide-awake crew and fast and safe journeys.The river cruise boat can comfortably accommodate up to 28 passengers on a large area of approx. 250 m2, it’s like a floating hotel:
- There are 14 lavishly furnished twin and double rooms, each with a private bathroom with shower and hot water, wardrobe and air-conditioning. All rooms offer a fantastic panoramic view over the Mekong River.
- There is a large dining room in the lower deck, where you can enjoy culinary specialities of Vietnam or a sun-downer in the cosy bar.
- A stylish upper-deck inside panorama lounge invites you to sit back and take in the impressions of the fantastic scenery and the busy every day life on the river.

The captain and his deck hand as well as the engineer are in charge of the technical details and the routing. About This Cruise
This 3-day tour between Saigon and Phu Quoc is available with the wooden cruise - Mekong Eyes Classic.Note:
- This tour starts on odd dates (e. g: Oct 1, 3, 5, 7 etc.) from Saigon or Can Tho. If you are staying in Saigon, we will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the pier in Can Tho. The drive to/ from Cai Be takes about 2 hours, to/ from Can Tho approx. 4 hours.
- The same tour can also be booked in the reverse direction, starting with the flight from Saigon to Phu Quoc where you can stay and enjoy pristine beaches on the island for as long as you like, and then take the boat trip through the Mekong Delta back to Saigon.
- Details of the routes and tour activities are for reference only. Final confirmation will be sent upon booking and before departure date as it depends on tide and weather conditions.
Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Saigon - Can Tho.
In the morning you will be picked up at your hotel in Saigon and transfered to the pier in Can Tho. Board your wooden river cruise boat around noon. After a refreshing welcome drink, the crew show you on-board facilities and your cosy cabin. As lunch is served, the boat starts cruising. Sit back and watch the fantastic scenery and the daily life of the Mekong people.
In the afternoon you can disembark for a guided leisurely stroll through the village and the surrounding fruit orchards or rice fields. Meet the friendly locals and taste the local produce and fruits.
Get back on board and enjoy a drink at the bar or relax on deck as the sun sets over the magnificent water landscape. The boat will anchor for the night. The day ends with a delicious on-board dinner.

Day 2: Life on the Water.
Wake up well rested to the sound of the river and get ready for another exciting day of sightseeing. At 6:30 A.M, the boat sets off for a sunrise cruise. Watch the locals go about their daily work drying exotic fruits and building ships on the wooden yards while enjoying an early breakfast.
After breakfast, explore the green water landscape on a little rowing sampan to see local houses, verdant orchards and ship-building yards. Alternatively you can discover the nearby town on foot or on explore the small side canals on a bicycle.
The vessel now resumes its journey as lunch is served. In the afternoon there will be another side trip to one of the exotic villages or lush plantations along the way. While mooring close to Tra On Island you can enjoy another relaxing evening and night about your river cruiser.

Day 3: Cai Rang Floating Market & Transfer to Phu Quoc.
After morning tea and an early start through the glorious morning atmosphere on the river, you will visit the famous floating market of Cai Rang. Marvel at the sheer abundance of exotic fruits and vegetables. Pull up to the boats for talking and bargaining with the merchants.
Directly after visiting the floating market, the shuttle bus will transfer you to the waterfront town of Rach Gia and to the pier for the ferry to Phu Quoc - a paradise island for beach holiday in Vietnam (lunch box on the way).
