Detailed itinerary of Yen Tu Pagoda Day Trip from Hanoi.
Start with a pick-up at your hotel in Hanoi by Vietnam Travel's tour guide and driver, then begin the two hour journey to the complex of Yen Tu Monuments and Landscape. The heritage site is mostly situated on a mountainous region which is about 600m above sea level. With its peak at 1,068m above sea level, Yen Tu is famous for its beautiful natural landscape and cultural heritage, called the ancestral land of Truc Lam Zen Buddhism in Vietnam.
On arrival, explore the mountain’s pristine nature, beautiful streams, rich heritage, and some of its most sacred sites. Then take the cable car over the lush forest canopy to visit Hoa Yen Pagoda at the altitude of 534 meters. This is the biggest pagoda among the pagoda complex of Yen Tu Mountain. Here, you can also see two 700-year-old frangipani trees.
Continue to Dong Pagoda (Bronze Pagoda), which is totally made of copper, perched atop the mountain’s peak on the height of 1,068m. You may offer incenses and pray for your loved ones. Take a chance to enjoy the panoramic view from the highest peak of the mountain.
The beauty of Yen Tu lies in how the majesty of its mountain ranges mingle with the ancient and solemn quietness of its pagodas, shrines and towers. Along the way, architectural masterpieces can be seen in different ways: one might be hidden in the old forest, another is situated obviously in a wide open space and the next would be hidden by the clouds. Once you reach the summit, you can take in the beautiful panoramic view of Northern Vietnam and also enjoy a pure vegetarian lunch at a local restaurant nearby.
Step down the mountain by foot, get on the car, transfer back to Hanoi. Tour concludes at your hotel.
