Situated in North Vietnam, Thai Binh is known as “the hometown of rice”. However, Thai Binh has more to offer and will surprise the tourists. If you come to the province, you will realize that it is not only famous for thousands of large rice field.

Pick up at your hotel in the center of Hanoi and take a 2,5 hour ride to reach Thai Binh city. The first stop is one of the main tourist spots in Thai Binh - Dong Chau Beach. It is located 30km far from Thai Binh City. The total area of this tourist spot is about 10 thousand km2. The best of Dong Chau Beach is pure air, soft winds and good climate, which surely makes you feel relax and convalescing. You can enjoy the fresh air filled with wind from the sea. Moreover, you also have chance to visit some historical place such as Nha Ba Temple, and an Action Unit of Northern Committee before the August Revolution.
From Dong Chau, crossing the sea, about 7 km off land, is Con Thu (Thu Hillock) and Con Vanh (Vanh Hillock) with the white sandy beaches. Thu Hillock which has an area of 19 km2 with finely white sand, green pine forest, and the small beach is an ideal place for visitors to go on holiday, have a picnic and relax. Coming here, you can enjoy activities as fishing, windsurfing, beach volleyball, etc. Vanh Hillock has an area of 15 km2 with salt flooded forest which is the habit of many species of rare birds to come such as storks, pelicans, teals, etc.
The next stop is Keo Pagoda, the most famous pagoda in Thai Binh well known for its unique architecture. Up to now, Keo Pagoda has proudly preserved one of the few surviving sets of rod puppets in Vietnam. Keo Pagoda is associated with one of famous festivals in Vietnam – Keo festival. It is annually celebrated from 13th to 15th of the ninth lunar month, 100 days after the death of the Buddhist dignitary Duong Khong Lo.
The final point to visit of the tour is Bach Thuan Garden Village – a “world of fruits” in Thai Binh Province. It is a rich and populous garden village, of which the edge is an alluvial field, which serves for the cultivation of mulberry, banana and sugarcane. Inside the village are fruit tree and ornamental plant gardens. There are various flowers and fruits during all four seasons: apples, guavas, plums, lemons, longans, sapodillas, oranges, tangerines, bananas and jack fruits. At times of high tide, Bach Thuan’s roads flood that visitors and locals must take boats to move from one house to another one. Visiting the garden village, you have the chance to enjoy some local specialties.
